Salary negotiations deadlocked after the State’s final offer of 5,8% was rejected by all unions. The State followed this by declaring a dispute.
The situation moved into a period for conciliation, which will take up until the end of the month of April. Conciliation meetings have been scheduled for the 10th, 14th and 15th of April. The meeting of 10th April only yielded an improved offer to increase the housing allowance to R1200 p.m. for home-owners.
