THE DEPARTMENT OF BASIC EDUCATION (DBE) -2014 EXAMINATION GUIDELINES AND EXEMPLAR QUESTION PAPERS FOR GRADE 12 NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE (NSC)

2014 EXAMINATIONS.

 

The Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statements (CAPS) is currently being implemented in Grade 12.The Grade 12 National Senior Certificate (NSC) 2014 examination will therefore be based on the CAPS

The DBE Examination Guidelines and Exemplar question papers have been developed in an effort to assist teachers and learners in their preparations for the NSC examinations.

 

EXAMINATION Guidelines:

§  It is essential to emphasise that these Examination Guidelines are not a substitute for the CAPS, as they merely provide information regarding the final NSC examination and where necessary clarifies the scope and depth of the content to be assessed. It is therefore recommended that each guideline always be used in conjunction with the CAPS for each subject.

§  Examination Guidelines are available in all subjects except for Electrical Technology and Civil Technology where these guidelines are not required. Educators for these two subjects are required to refer to Section 4 of the CAPS applicable to their respective subjects for details regarding the assessment of these subjects.

EXEMPLAR QUESTION PAPERS:

§  Exemplar question papers are available in all content subjects and Home Languages Paper 1 only.

§  There are NO exemplar question papers for the following subjects :

Ø  Home Language Paper 2,;

Ø  Home Language Paper 3; and

Ø  First Additional Language and Second Additional Languages.
