For the attention of public servants: Amendments to the Determination and Directive on Leave of Absence in the Public Service.  


The leave dispensation of public servants is contained in the Determination and Directive on Leave of Absence in the Public Service, issued by the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA). The Directive has been amended in line with the provisions of PSCBC Resolution 2 of 2015. It now includes paternity leave and family responsibility leave for public servants with children with severe special needs.Every school should have a copy of the Determination and Directive on Leave of Absence in the Public Service. Of primary importance is paragraph 6 of Part 4 of the Directive (page 15). This paragraph sets out the leave dispensation of all public servants employed at public schools and colleges.
