“Invest in FUTURE, Invest in the TEACHERS”
The 5th of October 2014 is the 20th anniversary of the World Teachers’ Day, an annual event initiated by UNESCO and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and celebrated with its partners UNICEF and Educational International (EI) to honour and celebrate teachers.
Quality education for all is the foundation for sustainable economic prosperity and a just and equitable society. Quality education helps every person to achieve his or her full potential. All children deserve a teacher who is qualified, well-trained and paid according to their skills, qualifications and experience.
Students deserve these entitlements as a minimum standard to ensure quality education.
Make this World Teachers' Day to remember!
On 5 October 2014, World Teachers’ Day, Education International (EI), the international organisation supporting teacher trade unions throughout the globe, launched a new phase in its campaign to Unite for Quality Education.
The campaign aims to:
- Secure Quality Education For All;
- Ensure the achievement of the 2015 Millennium Development Goal for education; and
- Secure quality education for all as part of global action by governments worldwide beyond 2015.
To make this the most special World Teachers’ Day ever! Celebrate teaching and learning with your 30 million colleagues all over the world who deliver quality education to children, young people and adults!
