The Truth about the CTU and NAPTOSA

NAPTOSA has become aware of attempts by some departmental officials, as well as some persons, who are not well disposed to our Union to imply that NAPTOSA does not exist. This is particularly the case in certain districts where in meetings reference is only made to SAOU. This is usually in relation to the current Vacancy List. What these officials and others should be saying is the “CTU SAOU” which is not itself a trade union but merely a name that four educator unions NAPTOSA, SAOU, PEU and NATU have used for purposes of representation in the ELRC.

HARASSMENT AND TORTURE OF TEACHERS IN ZIMBABWE

NAPTOSA has written a strongly-worded letter to Amnesty International to protest against the violence being perpetrated against teachers and lecturers in Zimbabwe in the aftermath of the parliamentary and presidential elections in that country. NAPTOSA is deeply concerned about reports coming out of Zimbabwe which speak of wide-spread, orchestrated violence by ZANU-PF and its allies on thousands of teachers, resulting in serious injury and even death of many teachers.
